Head out for East Passyunk After Hours and enjoy your night knowing your kids are having their own unforgettable party at Camp Sawubona!
The kiddos will enjoy an evening of music, imagination, and creative play at our Kids Character Karaoke Jam. It’s a high-energy, safe and joy-filled experience designed just for kids ages 3-12.
🌟WHAT TO EXPECT
Arts & Crafts
Kids will kick off the night with arts & crafts that will get their creativity flowing.
Costumes & Characters
Kiddos will dive into our costume and prop closet to choose a character that inspires them—superstars, superheroes, pop icons, and more!
Character Karaoke Jammy Jam
With the help of our professional teaching artists, they will play fun acting and improv games right before taking the stage to sing their favorite songs (solo or with friends). It’s all about celebrating creativity, courage, self-expression and joy—no pressure, just fun.
While you enjoy dinner, shopping or cocktails along East Passyunk, we’ll take care of the kids in our supervised, welcoming space. Parents can feel confident knowing their children are engaged, safe, and having an absolute blast✨

Class Requirements
Kiddos must be self-sufficient, independent bathroom users.
My student has sensory needs/other accommodations that make some activities a challenge. What should I do? Let us know. Email sawubonacreativityproject@gmail.com. Where Kids' Imaginations Take the Spotlight!
Story UP! brings kids’ wildest ideas to life in a laugh-out-loud, interactive improv show the whole family will love! Our team of professional performers create hilarious, on-the-spot scenes inspired by kids’ own stories—whether written, drawn, or told out loud. It’s comedy, creativity, and kid-powered chaos in the best way possible!
💥 What Makes It Awesome:
Fully Interactive – young audience members help shape the show from start to finish! With audience participation galore; from silly suggestions to joining us onstage, kids (and grownups too!) get in on the action.
All Stories Welcome – written, drawn, or spoken—every idea has the chance to shine.
Loads of Laughs – our performers are pros at turning everyday ideas into big-time fun.
🕒 Show Outline (Approx. 75 minutes)
1. Welcome & Meet + Greet (5 minutes)
Kids have time to write or draw their story ideas at fun story stations, while getting to know our cast.
2. Let’s Play! (5 minutes)
We kick things off with high-energy improv games that everyone can play—perfect for breaking the ice and warming up our imaginations!
3. The Main Event: Story UP! (55 minutes)
Watch as kids’ stories are transformed into one-of-a-kind comedy scenes by our cast of quick-thinking performers—complete with costumes, sound effects, and surprises. Kids may even be invited onstage to help bring their stories to life!
4. Quick Break (5 minutes)
Time for a snack or bathroom break.
5. Grand Finale Games! (5 minutes)
We wrap up with an all-audience improv game and one final big laugh to end the day on a high note!

Kids Night Out
While the adults are away…the kids will play! Sawubona Creativity Project is excited to offer a Kids Night in conjunction with East Passyunk Restaurant Week. While you enjoy a night out on the town or a delicious meal, our team will entertain your children with improv games, board games, art, karaoke, and more!
